Boy charged in alleged murder after 54-year-old woman found dead

A boy has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead at a west end address, according to Toronto police.

On Monday, January 20, police reportedly conducted a well-being check at an address located near St. Clair Avenue West and Atlas Avenue.

On arrival, police say they located a deceased woman, who has since been identified as Giulia Matthews, 54, of Toronto.

The death was deemed suspicious by the coroner, officers say, and an autopsy was conducted.

A boy has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder in relation to the incident.

No further information has been released on the alleged suspect under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
