When Toronto Blue Jays would play Mariners or Tigers in ALCS if they beat the Yankees

If there’s any solace in Tuesday night’s Game 3 collapse, the Toronto Blue Jays will still have more home games these playoffs.

Either they’ll be back at Rogers Centre Friday night for a tense winner-take-all Game 5 in the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees, or they’ll be the higher-ranked team heading into the American League Championship Series starting this weekend.

And with the latter very much a real possibility as the Jays are just one game away, the team announced on Wednesday that their ticket sales will start soon.

As of Thursday at 10 a.m. EDT, ALCS tickets will be available for purchase through the team’s official website.

Friday’s potential Game 5 is sold out, though tickets are still available via the resale market on both Ticketmaster and third-party sites like SeatGeek and StubHub. The cheapest ticket we saw as of Wednesday afternoon was $260 in the upper deck of the Rogers Centre.

Blue Jays fans are also encouraged to text BLUEJAYS to 25835 to sign up for the team’s District Drops program, which offers first updates on general admission tickets for all playoff and regular season games.

Blue Jays ALCS schedule

If the Blue Jays lose on Wednesday night, they’ll play the Yankees in a do-or-die Game 5 at home Friday.

But if they beat New York on Wednesday or Friday, the Blue Jays will advance to the ALCS, where they’ll play either the Seattle Mariners or Detroit Tigers.

As the higher seed, Toronto would have home-field advantage and host Games 1 and 2, as well as Games 6 and 7, if necessary.

  • Game 1: Sunday, Oct. 12 (in Toronto)
  • Game 2: Monday, Oct. 13 (in Toronto)
  • Game 3: Wednesday, Oct. 15
  • Game 4: Thursday, Oct. 16
  • Game 5*: Friday, Oct. 17
  • Game 6*: Sunday, Oct. 19 (in Toronto)
  • Game 7*: Monday, Oct. 20 (in Toronto)

The winner of the ALCS advances to the World Series, a place the Blue Jays last visited in 1993.
