Skating season is upon us. There are so many great outdoor spots to go for a skate in Toronto, but if you find public skating rinks too crowded, you might want to consider other spots for your outdoor activities this winter.
So get ready to lace up your skates and head to one of these magical skating trails and paths in and around Toronto this winter.

Barbara Ann Scott Skating Trail
A five-metre-wide trail that loops through College Park, it is the first exterior skating path in North America to incorporate state-of-the-art carbon dioxide technology in its refrigeration system.

Greenwood Park
This park is home to both a skating trail and a covered outdoor rink, so you’ll have options when you show up for a skate!

Colonel Samuel Smith Park
This skating path is actually the shape of a figure-eight and gives skaters great scenic views! This rink is unsupervised, so skaters will need to bring their own skates and helmets if they want to hit the ice.

Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh Skating Trail
Johnston’s Cranberry facility features a gorgeous 1.2 km skating loop that cuts through 12 acres of cranberry marshes. With a lush forest on one side and cranberry beds on the other, this will be an unforgettable experience.

MacGregor Point Provincial Park
This 400-metre trail winds through the provincial park’s picturesque snow-covered trees. Every night until 10 pm, overhead trail lights will be turned on so you can skate under the stars!
