The Beer Store to accept empties again at 50% of its locations
Starting on Monday, April 27, The Beer Store is expanding its deposit return program to reach over 200 retail locations.
Representing about half of the total number of stores across the province, this expansion adds on to the large-scale returns that Distribution Centres accept each Sunday, and the previously-announced 71 store locations that started accepting returns in early April.
Where possible, customers are asked to rinse containers at home before visiting stores to initiate returns, practice social distancing, and limit empty returns to one cart per person.
All customers should follow the on-site instructions provided by staff when returning empties. Also, customers will have the option to donate their empty container deposits to local hospital and food bank fundraising efforts.
Some stores will, temporarily, only accept empty containers on select days. More information can be found here.
Stores accepting empty alcohol containers will continue to sell beer.
Beer Store retail locations will be modifying their hours to 11 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, with regular operating hours on Sunday.
All locations accept debit or credit, and will continue to accept cash payments.
In addition, select Beer Store Distribution Centres will continue holding weekly events on Sundays, from 9 am to 3 pm, providing an option for consumers. These opportunities are set up as a drive-thru system, enabling a continuous flow of traffic.
