A new coffee and pastry emporium just landed in Toronto

While some tackle the full monty for breakfast, feasting on eggs, bacon, and toast, others prefer a simple pastry alongside a solid cup of coffee.

If the latter speaks to you, this new spot on College might just be your new go-to.

Barocco X Nino, now open at 974 College Street, is a collaboration between artisanal Canadian coffee roaster Barocco and Nino D’Aversa, an Italian bakery and trattoria with locations across the suburban GTA.

The new outpost offers a selection of brews for your morning caffeine jolt, alongside authentic pastries that’ll take you to Europe, if only in tastebuds and spirit.

The coffee bar offers espresso, cappuccinos, americanos and lattes, alongside matcha, nitro cold brew, hot chocolate, and more. Milk options include regular, homogenized, almond, and oat.

Pastry offerings range from rugelach and Sicilian cannoli to mini cheesecakes and tiramisu.

Plus, the spot has a bread wall from which you can select your pick from a variety of carb-loaded indulgences. We’re talking anything from cornbread to sourdough to ciabatta with hot peppers.

The eatery’s food bar is stocked with breakfast sammies, salads, panini, pizza a taglio, and plenty of take-home foods for enjoying with the family.

And, a “training lab” that’ll feature classes of many kinds will be launching soon.

The new eatery is open on weekdays from 7 am to 6 pm, and on weekends from 8 am to 6 pm.

So, yes — early enough for you to stop en route to work.
