US President Barack Obama is coming back to Toronto this month.

According to The Economic Club of Canada and Global Institute for Conscious Economics, they are launching a new four-part event series to explore “The Future of Work & The New Economy.”

The series is designed to create space that will inspire new ways of thinking about society, the economy, and the way we work.

The first event of this series will be held on January 23 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with Obama as the honorary speaker.

“Few presidents have walked a more improbable path to the White House,” reads a description of Obama on the event page.

“In times of great challenge and change, President Obama’s leadership ushered in a stronger economy, a more equal society, a nation more secure at home and more respected around the world. The Obama years were ones in which more people not only began to see themselves in the changing face of America, but to see America the way he always has – as the only place on Earth where so many of our stories could even be possible.”

And he is bringing his stories and wisdom to Toronto at this event.

The Economic Club of Canada & The Global Institute for Conscious Economics say they “are dedicated to fostering a new economic dialogue in Canada that promotes equality, inclusion, and the voices of multiple generations around the same table.”

This event audience will be a 1:1 ratio, with every ticket purchased provides an opportunity for a young leader to be present, at no cost to them.

“These youth will be of diverse socioeconomic, ethnic and experiential backgrounds, aged 30 years or younger,” according to The Economic Club of Canada. “By bringing unlikely groups around the same table, the event inspires changing conversations and provides access to those who need it. The event will focus on what the new Future of Work series is and how it strives to open doors for youth, as well as the importance of youth inclusion in these events, as they are the leaders of the future workforce and more.”
