Artizia is about to take over more retail space on Bloor Street.

The popular design house and fashion boutique is expanding its Mink Mile location, taking over space currently occupied by BCBG, who’s set to close after filing bankruptcy.

One of Canada’s most well-known fashion brands, Aritzia’s Bloor Street expansion will compare to the flagship Rush Street location in Chicago.

The new space will be light-filled, and will feature marble merchandising tables and cash desk, wire-wheeled oak tables and architectural wall panels. There will be custom built-in millwork, custom graphic wall murals, steel and glass interior partitions, custom raked stucco walls, and polished concrete and herringbone marble floors.

The expansion will see plants placed throughout the retail space, an escalator to the concourse shopping level, new and vintage floor fixtures, and curated works of art.

For those who love spending time at Aritzia, there will be a lounge area, which is also an inviting space for those waiting for their loved ones while they shop.

According to the fashion brand, “Each Aritzia destination — physical and digital — is considered individually, taking the time and effort to create places that provide the most beautiful and immersive shopping experience. The goal is to create places for rich, memorable, human experiences — something Aritzia believes people crave today more than ever before.”

And although the Aritzia couldn’t give us the expansion details in terms of square footage, or approximate opening date (which we will share once its available), it is bound to be a massive space.
