Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants just unveiled their comprehensive list of the 100 best spots to dine across the country.

And, for the third year in a row, Alo Restaurant has taken the top spot.

If you’ve been looking for a sign that it’s time to take the plunge and place a pickup order, this is it.

The French restaurant and cocktail bar pairs seasonal ingredients with a contemporary vibe and, during regular service operations, offers blind, multi-course tasting menus paired with distinctive wines.

Typically, the spot’s bar room accepts walk-ins, and there you can enjoy cocktails and a sharing-style, à la carte menu consisting of seafood, meat-based entrées, vegetable-focused sides, and desserts.

Bookings for the dining room open two months at a time and, during regular operations, can only be made through this website. The two different dining experiences, the Dining Room and the Kitchen Counter, are priced separately with the option of adding wine pairings.

However, considering the current state of Toronto’s restaurant scene, Alo has been operating differently for the last few months, and continues to do so.

The restaurant has set up an online ordering system through Tock, which allows would-be guests to browse the spot’s offerings and place orders for pickup.

Customers select a time to retrieve their multi-course meal, which includes canapés and petits fours, the details of which are ever-changing each week.

For example, this week’s offerings include Buttermilk Custard with King Crab, Madai Sashimi with Yuzu Kosho, White Asparagus with Almond, Ricotta Agnolotti with Tomato, House bread, Beef Short Rib with Maitake Mushroom, and a Dark Chocolate Tart.

Indeed.

The offering is set at $85 and should feed four to six people.
