5-year-old suffering non-life threatening injuries after fall from 12th floor balcony

A 5-year-old girl is suffering non-life threatening injuries following a fall from a 12th floor balcony on Tuesday.

According to Toronto Police, officers responded to a radio call on March 10 at 2:15 pm regarding the girl, near Jane and Finch.

Police say the girl was on the 12th floor balcony of an apartment, when she fell from the balcony to the ground.

The girl was then reportedly assisted by residents of the building.

“An emergency-run was conducted and the child was transported to hospital with serious injuries,” said police. “Her injuries are now considered to be non-life threatening.

Investigators say they have determined this is not a criminal investigation and is not considered suspicious.

Police also thanked members of the public who immediately attended to the girl.
