5 movies and TV shows filming in Toronto this February

Well Toronto, winter is in full swing and even though it’s freezing outside, there are still a few productions to catch filming in the city this month.

You just never know when you might catch a glimpse of your favourite TV show or movie filming on location right here in Toronto — bright lights, cameras rolling and who knows, you may even run into your favourite characters live and in action!

Here are five movies and TV shows filming in Toronto this February.

Greenland

While filming for this new feature film has been delayed a bit, rumour has it that Greenland starring Chris Evans may be on location in Toronto this month. While the delays for the movie are not fully known, Greenland was supposed to start production in the fall and has now been pushed to February-March.

The Expanse – Season 4

After many voiced their mixed emotions about the show being cancelled, Amazon has picked up The Expanse and fans will see another season of this space war drama filming in Toronto which will wrap up production at the beginning of February. While they haven’t announced a premiere date yet, the new series will be streamable so get ready for some serious binge-watching!

Ransom – Season 3

CBS’s Ransom will be filming for season three through to March. The series centers around crisis and hostage negotiator Eric Beaumont, played by Luke Roberts, and his team as they work to solve cases surrounding kidnap and ransom.

Designated Survivor – Season 3

After ABC cancelled the series in May, Designated Survivor was picked up by Netflix and Entertainment One and is back on location in Toronto till mid-February. Notable cast members in this political drama series include Kiefer Sutherland, Kal Penn, and Zoe McLellan.

The Handmaid’s Tale will be in production in Toronto for its second season through to May. Starring Elizabeth Moss, Alexis Bedel, Yvonne Strahovski, Joseph Fiennes, and Samira Wiley, the series is based on the bestselling novel by Margaret Atwood.
