Hello November!

The start of a new months brings some new productions to town. You just never know when you might catch a glimpse of your favourite TV show or movie filming on location right here in Toronto – bright lights, cameras rolling and who knows, you may even run into your favourite characters live and in action.

Here are 15 movies and TV shows filming in Toronto this November.

My Spy

Starring Dave Bautista, this action comedy is currently in production in Toronto through to December. My Spy will be about a CIA operative who goes undercover to surveil a family, only to find himself at the mercy of the family’s 9-year-old daughter.

Ready or Not

This new feature film will be on location in Toronto till mid-November. Starring Samara Weaving, Ready or Not is said to be about a woman who gets invited by her new husband’s family on the night of their wedding to take part in a family tradition that turns into a lethal game to fight for their survival.

The Expanse – Season 4

After many voiced their mixed emotions about the show being cancelled, Amazon has picked up The Expanse and fans will in fact see another season of this space war drama filming in Toronto this month. While they haven’t announced a premiere date yet, the new series will be streamable so get ready for some serious binge-watching!

Ransom – Season 3

CBS’s Ransom will be filming for season three through to March 2019. The series centers around crisis and hostage negotiator Eric Beaumont, played by Luke Roberts, and his team as they work to solve cases surrounding kidnap and ransom.

Designated Survivor – Season 3

After ABC cancelled the series in May, Designated Survivor was picked up by Netflix and Entertainment One and is back on location in Toronto this November. Notable cast members in this political drama series include Kiefer Sutherland, Kal Penn, and Zoe McLellan.

The Handmaid’s Tale will be in production in Toronto this November for its second season through to April 2019. Starring Elizabeth Moss, Alexis Bedel,  Yvonne Strahovski, Joseph Fiennes, and Samira Wiley, the series is based on the bestselling novel by Margaret Atwood.

Baroness Von Sketch Show – Season 4

This Canadian sketch comedy series is on location in Toronto this November filming for season four. Baroness Von Sketch Show stars Second City alumni Carolyn Taylor, Aurora Browne and Jennifer Whalen alongside Meredith MacNeill, who are all executive producers of this all-female series.

Good Witch – Season 5

Good Witch will be filming in Toronto through to December for its fifth season. Based upon the Good Witch movie franchise, Catherine Bell returns to her role as Cassie Nightingale in the series alongside her daughter Grace played by Bailee Madison.

Letterkenny – Season 4


Letterkenny will wrap up production at the end of November for its fourth season. Based around two friends living a very, very small town life, this Canadian sitcom has filmed all four seasons of the show right here in Sudbury, Ontario.

In the Dark – Season 1

This new CW series will be on location in Toronto all the way until December for season one. In the Dark will be about a young blind woman who happens to witness the murder of her drug-dealing friend. When the police don’t believe her story, she sets out with her dog to find the killer on her own.

Star Trek: Discovery – Season 2

Star Trek: Discovery will be filming its second season in Toronto through to mid November. Also being referred to by its code name Green Harvest, the series is set roughly 1o years before the original Star Trek series and stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp and Michelle Yeoh.

Suits – Season 8

Suits will wrap up production in Toronto for its eighth season by mid-November. Many wonder what the new season will be like after fans had to say goodbye to two longtime characters in last season’s finale – Rachel Zane played by Meghan Markle and Mike Ross played by Patrick J Adams.

Murdoch Mysteries – Season 12

Starring Yannick Bisson, Hélène Joy, and Jonny Harris, Murdoch Mysteries will wrap up production of season twelve by the first week of November. This Canadian drama series follows Toronto-based detective William Murdoch as he solves crime during the 1890s and early 1900s.
