If your garden is in need of some great fertilizer, the Woodland Park Zoo has you covered. Literally. Enter their online lottery to win Zoo Doo and Bedspread, some of the most exotic and highly coveted compost in the Pacific Northwest.

Entries to the dung lottery are only for those looking to purchase Zoo Doo or Bedspread in bulk, as pint and two-gallon containers are sold year-round in the ZooStore. The lottery system is accepting entries until March 1, 2020.

Zoo Doo in the lottery is sold by the gallon, with 100 gallons being the maximum that one person is allowed to purchase. Five gallons of Zoo Doo is sold for $6, 10 gallons for $12, 20 gallons for $18, 32 gallons for $24, 55 gallons for $36, and 100 gallons for $58.

Zoo Doo can also be picked up by the truckload, $90 for an 8×4 bed, $80 for a 6×4 bed, and $55 for a 6×3 bed.

Bedspread can only be picked up in a pick-up truck bed:

  • Pick-up truck 8×4 bed: $65
  • Pick-up truck 6×4 bed: $55
  • Pick-up truck 6×3 bed: $45

The Doo itself is a blend of feces contributed by a variety of the zoo’s non-primate herbivores, including rhinos, hippos, giraffes, mountain goats, tapirs, and more. According to The Zoo, the dung mixture is perfect for growing veggies and annuals.

The mulch bedspread contains the same mix of feces with woodchip and wood shavings, perfect to suppress weeds while fertilizing plants.
