What to order in and around Seattle today: 19 Gold

Apr 10 2020, 12:02 am

If you’re in search of filling Taiwanese takeout, 19 Gold is where you need to go tonight. Well, we don’t recommend physically going there, but do order delivery.

The spot serves up Seattle’s first Taiwanese malatang, which translates to really spicy, numbing soup.

19 Gold was named after malatang, which is flavored with 19 different spices. The soup may or may not make you tear up, but it will definitely leave you wanting more.

The restaurant serves up six kinds of malatang, from surf and turf to veggie and soup dumpling-filled bowls.

When ordering from 19 Gold, don’t forget about their appetizers. Their deep-fried Taiwanese fish cake and 19 Gold fries are our top picks, but the garlic string beans and deep-fried golden bun with condensed milk are close seconds.

19 Gold’s rice and noodle dishes are also tasty and within a reasonable price range of $5.95 to $11.95.
