With increased health and safety standards and preventative protocols, WestJet has released its new July schedule with the intent of encouraging travelers to indulge in summer getaways while contributing to the country’s economic recovery.

There will be a limited number of flights to specific destinations within the United States.

The airline will continue to uphold its stringent hygiene measures through its Safety Above All program while providing passengers with increased flexibility through updated booking, alteration, and cancelation policies.

Beginning July 5 and extending through August 4, WestJet will offer flights to 45 locations, five of which are in the United States. The remaining flights are in Canada, with one in Mexico. According to an official press release, this updated schedule is an increase of approximately 102% more flights from June. However, it is a decrease of 76% from July of last year.

“Today’s schedule reflects our commitment to orderly and safe travel while providing steps to allow [travelers] to get out, explore, and take part in critical economic activities like staying in hotels, eating out, visiting tourist attractions or simply just traveling to see friends and family,” WestJet Chief Commercial Officer Arved von zur Muehlen said in the release.

WestJet previously suspended its transborder and international services, but this updated schedule now features key destinations, including Los Angeles (LAX), Atlanta (ATL), and Las Vegas (LAS).
