Washington State Ferries prepares for potential cancellations this weekend
With an increase of wind gusts in this weekend’s forecast, it’s very likely that the ferries to and from Seattle will be experiencing delays and possible cancellations.
This morning, the National Weather Service Seattle tweetedĀ that there’s currently a possibility of local power outages and downed trees this weekend due to windy conditions on the Coast and Northern Interior.
In response, Washington State Ferries mentioned that bumpy ferry rides, cancellations, and delays are something to look out for as we head into the weekend.

The routes most affected include Port Townsend/Coupeville and the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes.

On Friday, 10 sailings are scheduled to leave Port Townsend to Coupeville, and another 10 leaving Coupeville to Port Townsend. There are over 20 sailings on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes.
