The Washington government has revealed that the state’s COVID-19-related death toll has been adjusted to 2,850, 188 fewer deaths than posted in yesterday’s count.
Testing numbers today should be “interpreted with caution” as the case count may include up to 300 duplicates. The Washington State Department of Health cites “incomplete” test data from November 30 through December 6 to be the cause of the error.
According to the Washington State Department of Health website, there have been 2,550 new known cases of coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours.
This brings the state’s confirmed total to 192,413 with 1,045 current hospitalizations, 133 of whom are intubated.
The United States’ total death toll now sits at 299,614.
