It’s the 13th year of the iconic Seattle Turkey Trot that was created by 3 Seattle Ballardites who wanted to run on Thanksgiving to counteract the huge meals that they’d be devouring later that evening. The dog-friendly run begins at 9 am in the Sunset Hill neighborhood of Ballard and finishes at Golden Gardens Park. It’s an extremely casual run, with three waves of starters: runners, trotters, and walkers.

Time: 9 am
Location: 32nd Avenue NW and NW 85th Street, Ballard
Admission: $20+; registration is available online
