Starbucks is testing a more recyclable and compostable cup in Seattle

The recyclable and compostable hot cup solution is a part of the NextGen Cup Challenge, an initiative that is the “first step in the development of a global end-to-end solution that would allow cups around the world to be diverted from landfills and composted or given a second life as another cup, napkin or even a chair – anything that can use recycled material.”
This in-market test is designed to provide insights into the employee and customer in-store experience.
This rollout comes shortly after news that Starbucks is pausing the use of personal cups in its stores due to coronavirus.
