Celebrate New Year's like it's the 1920s at this swingin' party in Seattle

In a few weeks, the new year will mark the start of a new decade. Let’s forget about 2020 and take it back to the 1920s at this year’s Spectra.

Each year, the Pacific Science Center hosts Spectra, a themed New Year’s party. This year’s theme is the Roaring 20s, a time of economic prosperity right before the stock market crash in 1929.

Channel your inner Gatsby and get ready for a night of opulence and wonder. Get photo-ready and capture the night in the Gas Spectra Tubes Photo Booth. Explore various science-based activities such as diamond making and building glammed up robots, as well as watch an illusions show and get wowed by a Van de Graaf Generator.

As well as meeting new friends, you’ll have the chance to wander the Pacific Science Center and even meet a few exotic animals. Make sure to get your photo taken with all the creatures you meet, both human and not.

The party calls for your fanciest beaded gown or suit as you’ll be dancing your way into the new year with DJ Kemyst and DJ Native Havoc. As well as watching a laser performance, show off your singing skills during a round of laser karaoke with Baby Ketten.

At midnight, end your perfect year with your best friends and one of the best views of the annual Space Needle fireworks show.
