Small business spotlight: purchase some weird wares from Ugly Baby Shop

May 29 2020, 9:53 pm

Although its brick and mortar store at the edge of Pike Place Market is currently closed, Ugly Baby Shop is offering its signature wares online for delivery.

With a name like Ugly Baby Shop, you just know that this place doesn’t take themselves too seriously.

Rosalie and Douglas Gale started the store in 2008 with a special focus on DIY craft kits and enamel pins by independent artists.

Along with owning the shop, the Gales have come up with the first art in the world that hangs in your shower with a suction cup, and appropriately call the pieces “shower art.”

The art comes in five sizes that range from mini to large and is made out of rubber, glitter, discarded toys, adorable stickers, and a fair amount of sarcasm.

On top of the shower art, Ugly Baby Shop carries products for kids, DIY craft kits, enamel pins, home goods, accessories, clothing, and stationery.
