Check out these images of the Shanghai Disneyland reopening
After being temporarily closed since January 25 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Shanghai Disneyland officially began its phased reopening on Monday.
As the gates reopened, the various Cast Members, staff, and characters that bring the park to life were there to welcome guests of all ages back with open arms (while distancing, of course!) to experience the magic of Disney once again.
Before the park officially reopened, it was decorated with beautiful spring-themed decor, and a special reopening ceremony was held in front of the colorful “Floral Minnie.”

Cast members from every themed area of the park came together, along with over 30 iconic Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, the Marvel Super Heroes, Disney princesses, and Toy Story characters, to share the privilege of inviting fans back to celebrate the reopening.
“Since the reopening of Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel in early March, we have been deeply moved by the encouragement from our guests and Disney fan,” Shanghai Disney Resort President and General Manager Joe Schott said in a press release.
“Today, we are extremely pleased to reopen Shanghai Disneyland thanks to the unwavering efforts of our Cast Members and our community. Today’s celebrations will be remembered with joy, as we look forward to welcoming our guests back to this happy place.”
In tune with its phased reopening, Shanghai Disneyland has implemented various new measures and protocols to ensure the safety of guests. These procedures include opening with limited attendance, implementing queues that adhere to social distancing guidelines, and requiring advanced reservations and ticketing.
While the various measures may seem restrictive, the company itself and social media users were still quick to post and share their excitement through photos and videos from the reopening day.
