As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Seattle-based developer Vulcan Real Estate has announced that it will not be collecting rent from its small business retail and non-profit tenants for the month of April 2020.

The rent relief is designed to help tenants keep their business alive, and be able to have the time and flexibility to access government resources.

Vulcan Real Estate has developed multiple buildings around the city, including Jackson Apartments in Seattle’s Central District, 111 Westlake between downtown and South Lake Union, and Bellevue Plaza in downtown Bellevue.

“As a long-standing Seattle-based developer, we are part of the community that is navigating this extraordinarily difficult time,” said Ada M. Healey, chief real estate officer of Vulcan Inc.
“We hope this action will help these small businesses weather the next phase of the COVID-19 health and economic crisis.”
