The Doctor's Office opens in Capitol Hill February 21

Feb 21 2020, 9:04 pm

It seems that drinking to numb the pain may be just what the doctor ordered.

The brainchild of Keith Waldbauer, former owner of Liberty Bar, and Dr. Matthew Powell, an actual working doctor, The Doctor’s Office in Capitol Hill is set to open today at 4 pm.

With only 12 seats available, it’s highly recommended that you make an appointment (reservation) or, much like a waiting room, sit for hours until you’re serviced.

With over 200 spirits to choose from, the bar is a cocktail lover’s haven.

Opt for one of their perfected classic cocktails or ask the bartenders for the doctor’s prescription, a personalized drink based on your flavor preferences, mood, and how much you’d like to spend.

You’ll also be able to craft your own highballs and cocktails, using any bottle that they have behind the bar. There’s also an option to create your own flight of spirits, choosing between regular pours, half-ounce pours for half the price, or a full shot for 1.5 times the price.

In addition to moderately priced drinks, do some good by ordering the Pap Smir, a $220 full shot of Pappy 15y paired with Smirnoff Ice in a souvenir Planned Parenthood koozie. 100% of the sale is donated to Planned Parenthood, which covers the cost of a preventative health visit for someone who can’t afford it.
