To ease the boredom of self-isolation caused by a lack of baseball, the Seattle Mariners and Root Sports Northwest are teaming up to air classic Mariners home openers.
Mariners fans can catch the classic games on Root Sports beginning on Thursday, March 26, at 7 pm — on what would have been Opening Day.
Games will be televised daily through April 2, beginning with Ichiro’s MLB debut from 2001.
Here’s the first week’s schedule:
- Thursday, March 26: Oakland Athletics at Mariners, April 2, 2001
- Friday, March 27: Los Angeles Angels at Mariners, April 8, 2003
- Saturday, March 28: Oakland A’s at Mariners, April 2, 2007
- Sunday, March 29: Los Angeles Angels at Mariners, April 14, 2009
- Monday, March 30: Los Angeles Angels at Mariners, April 8, 2014
- Tuesday, March 31: Los Angeles Angels at Mariners, April 6, 2015
- Wednesday, April 1: Houston Astros at Mariners, April 10, 2017
- Thursday, April 2: Cleveland Indians at Mariners, March 29, 2018.
Need to scratch that baseball itch? @ROOTSPORTS_NW has you covered!
Things kick off this Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Ichiro’s big league debut vs. the Athletics. Then, catch a classic Mariners Home Opener every night at 7:00 p.m. through April 2.
