City of Seattle launches interactive Shop Your Block map

Nov 20 2020, 8:42 pm

In addition to deferring utility payments, placing a temporary moratorium on evictions, and implementing temporary restaurant loading zones, the City of Seattle has now launched another way to help local businesses: an online interactive map that shows open small businesses around the city.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the Seattle economy,” reads the website. “Shop Your Block connects you to local retail, small businesses in Seattle.”

The map includes restaurants from Northgate all the way to Rainier Beach, indicating which hours, phone numbers, and type of shop. It also includes an online shopping directory, organized by neighborhood.

Those interested in adding their businesses to the map can do so online. Simply fill out this form, and Shop Your Block will quickly review your submission.

The map comes just a few days after Governor Jay Inslee ordered in-store retail, grocery stores, and personal services in Washington State to limit occupancy to 25%.
