Meet the Seattle designer featured in this season's Project Runway

Nov 27 2019, 7:16 pm

Project Runway, the design show known for busting out quotes such as: “Blood Orange, he’s so pretentious,” and “she looks like a slutty cat toy,” is returning for its eighteenth season next Thursday, December 5.

This season will feature Seattle’s very own Jennifer Charkow of Stone Crow Designs. As a queer designer and proud Latina, Charkow is known for her interest in eco-fashion, inclusivity, and unisex designs, and has been featured on the runway at the Independent Designer Runway Show at Bellevue Fashion Week 2017 and at FashioNXT 2018 in Portland.

“I’ve always wanted to make sure the emphasis was not only on style but also on the environment. The fabrications that I use are as eco-friendly as I can find. I use organic cotton, organic bamboo, hemp, Tencel as well as the occasional use of Army/Navy parachutes and upcycled fabrics,” Charkow explains on her website.
