Seattle Center is hosting a free healthcare clinic this weekend

Feb 14 2020, 7:18 pm

Believing that healthcare is a basic American right, the Seattle Center Foundation is taking this weekend to provide free healthcare to the Seattle public.

From February 14 to 16, enjoy free dental, vision, and medical care courtesy of hundreds of volunteers and the Seattle Center Foundation.

The free clinic is located at Seattle Center and is available for anyone in need who is unable to access and/or afford healthcare.

Patients of all kinds are welcome and don’t have to be residents of Seattle/King County. Patients aren’t required to provide ID or proof of immigration status and will be able to talk to interpreters throughout the day as needed.

Services provided include dental, vision, and medical exams. Due to high volumes of patients, it is not possible to receive both dental and vision care on the same day.

Dental services include fillings, extractions, x-rays, and deep cleanings.

Vision services include vision screening, complete eye exams, reading glasses, and prescription eyeglasses. If you have an eyeglass prescription from the past year, bring it in to skip the exam and receive a pair of eyeglasses.

Medical services include physical exams, x-rays, mammograms, ultrasounds, select lab tests, immunizations, foot and wound care, dermatology, physical and occupational therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, nutrition counseling, behavioral health, and more.

Several resources will also be made available, including social work, help with health insurance, and more.

Those interested in getting into the clinic can start waiting at Fisher Pavilion at the corner of 2nd Avenue N and Thomas Street at 12:30 am. At 5 am, a limited number of tickets will be handed out to those waiting. Patients will begin entering the clinic at 6:30 am, based on the number on their ticket.

Any patient under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Youth aged 13 and above who are not in contact with a legal guardian or parent may still get treated.

Come prepared for a long day. Bring food, comfortable clothing, and daily medications.
