Seattleites are known to be very into all-natural and organic food.

Why should we stop this self-care when it comes to what we put on our faces and skin?

French Girl is shockingly not a French brand. The Seattle-based beauty brand focuses on face, hair, bath and body, and lip products. They believe in the power of self-care and conscious consumption while offering quality products at a reasonable price range. Their products can be found at major stores like Anthropologie, as well as at smaller local shops. Products can be purchased online or in-store at select retailers.

Rho Cosmetics isn’t like all the other brands — they’re a cool brand (wink), and they’re definitely the most high-tech. With a founder who’s an ex-R&D formulation chemist, the brand blends the best naturally derived ingredients with synthetic ingredients. A perfect balance of the two help Rho Cosmetics achieve effective and safe products. Products can be bought at numerous pop-ups around Seattle as well as online.

Although sold in Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters, Moonlit Skincare is an independent Seattle-based brand. In college, founders Kriszta and Stephy realized that their stress and lack of sleep were wreaking havoc on their skin. They decided to join forces and create Moonlit Skincare. They ethically and sustainably create their formulas in Bali and the US without parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, PEGs, and synthetic fragrances. Their products can be purchased through various retailers, and online.

What is now sold in shops worldwide began as an Etsy shop in the kitchen of Seattleite Julia Wills. She continues creating products with natural ingredients, plant-based food-grade cold-pressed oils, essential oils, GMO-free soy wax, recyclable packaging and leaving out synthetic ingredients, parabens, and other harmful substances. Soaps from the shop are still made by Wills’ father but are now sold through major retailers such as Sephora. Products can also be purchased online.
