Marriott is donating $10 million in hotel stays for US frontline medical workers
Hospitality company Marriott is flexing its charitable muscles by providing $10 million worth of hotel stays for US frontline medical professionals contributing to the ongoing fight against COVID-19.
With assistance from its credit card partners American Express and JPMorgan Chase, the initiative is in collaboration with the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Emergency Nurses Association and serves to connect healthcare professionals with free accommodation in areas that have been significantly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
These locations include New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Las Vegas, and New Orleans, as well as others.

“As we all watch the news unfold about this unprecedented event, it’s clear that there is a need to assist and bolster healthcare workers and community caregivers who are on the frontlines working to contain this disease,” Marriott wrote on its website.
The company is also extending a Community Caregiver Program that is available to first responders and healthcare workers in the United States as well as Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. This program provides substantially discounted rates for those wishing to book rooms at hotels that are close by to the hospitals where they work.
That is not the end of Marriott’s philanthropic endeavors, however.
Additionally, the company created the Marriott Bonvoy’s Giving Platform, where customers can get involved by donating their Marriott Bonvoy Points to various charitable organizations that are serving to provide coronavirus response and relief around the world.
Such organizations include the American Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, as well as World Central Kitchen and UNICEF.
