Pike Place Market will transform into a holiday wonderland this weekend
On a typical weekend, we’d tell you to avoid Pike Place Market if you don’t like a busy atmosphere. This Saturday, however, join the crowds for the 24th Annual Magic in the Market Celebration.
The free event kicks off at 11 am and features an abundance of activities up until the Market lighting at 5 pm.

Kickstart your day by meeting Boomer and Humphrey, two real-life reindeer who will be hanging out outside of the market from 11 am to 2 pm. After you get the Instagram-worthy shots of yourself with the reindeer, snap some photos with the one and only Santa Claus. Santa will be available for photos from noon until 4 pm, and everyone is encouraged to join in — not just children.

Enjoy festive music as you walk down the cobblestone with your eggnog, visiting the rest of the food vendors lining the street.
Next, move into the MarketFront Pavilion to decorate your own wrapping paper or enjoy a glass-blowing demonstration by artist Gina Karaba. Fellow Market artist David Harris will be demonstrating how he makes wooden tops, which make a perfect stocking stuffer.
On the topic of stocking stuffers, pick out a handmade stocking from over twenty vendors. You can also vote for your favorite stocking for a chance to win it — voting closes at 3 pm.

Wander through the market to find gifts for those on your nice list, and make sure to venture by level four to create your own snowflake ornament. On level three, create your own holiday wall hang for your front door or bedroom.
To finish your busy day, head back out to the cobblestones at 5 pm to catch the Market lighting. You don’t want to miss seeing the iconic Market glitter and glow as we kick off December and holiday season.
