Here are the burgers to look forward to:
Throwback Burger — January 26 to February 1
Burger Month kicked off with a week-long redux of the “Good Old Burger” from Chef Brady Williams of Canlis, a 2020 Burger Month fan favorite. The burger includes fry sauce, American cheese, dry-aged grilled beef patty, shredded romaine, sliced pickles, and Yubeshi onions on a potato bun. While this tasty burger is no longer available, the remaining four can’t be missed!
Gully Sandwich — February 2 to 8
“Our burger takes us back to the gully’s (streets) of India – specifically Jama Masjid in New Delhi where we would eat the most perfectly spiced and juicy fried chicken at one of the street vendors. We tried to pay tribute to this and added some signature items from our menu, like our Cilantro Chutney. The pickled onions & garlic chili crunch complement the fried chicken perfectly and enhance the flavors. At Spice Waala, we try to provide flavors that make Indians nostalgic of home and introduce others to flavors that we loved from India. We hope this burger does that for all of you,” explains Aakanksha Sinha and Uttam Mukherjee, owners of Spice Waala and creators of the Gully Sandwich.
Cochiloco Burger — February 9 to 15
“Our burger was inspired by the flavors of Mexican street food! Specifically in southern California. Aggressive seasonings, heat, crispiness, and acidity. We threw a jalapeno popper with cream cheese on top as a lil’ nod to Seattle, a la Seattle dog,” explains Ricardo Valdes, owner of Rais and creator of the Cochiloco Burger.
Du Sud — February 16 to 22
The Du Sud burger was created by Daisley Gordon of CafĂ© Campagne. The burger includes harissa red pepper mayo, pickled onions and capers, whipped goat cheese, ground lamb, beef, rosemary, and garlic on a Lil Woody’s house bun.
Neon Torta — February 23 to March 1
“The Lil Neon ‘burger’ is a modern take on the traditional tortas I ate as a kid and deeply inspired by the Condesa and Roma neighborhoods of Mexico City and the torta spots there,” explains Monica Dimas of Little Neon Taco and creator of the Neon Torta. The sandwich includes avocado mayo, cabbage cilantro slaw, sauteed onions, jalapenos, cojita, pulled pork, and a Little Neon house-made telera.
The burgers will be available at all three Lil Woody’s locations at Capitol Hill at 1211 Pine Street, in Ballard at 2040 NW Market Street, and at White Center at 9807 16th Avenue SW, and through delivery partners. All locations are currently open Monday through Sunday, from 12 to 8 pm.
