While travel plans remain on hold, folks around the world are eager to get out and explore, which is where virtual tours come into play.

Thanks to the Digital Giza Project from Harvard University, you can take a virtual tour through ancient Egyptian pyramids and tombs from the comfort of your home.

The Giza Project provides couch-surfing tourists with the tools and information gathered by academics, to learn all about one of the world’s oldest attractions.

Started by the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Giza Project has been in development since 2000.

“Since moving to Harvard in 2011, the Project has expanded its scope,” reads the Giza Project website. “Partnering with other institutions around the world that excavated at Giza, to bring together as much data as possible about this complex site.”

Head on over to the Giza Project now to see first-hand what the pyramids, cemeteries, and surrounding tombs look like.
