What to eat in and around Seattle today: Skalka Georgian Bakery

Enjoy fresh Georgian staples such as khachapuri and khinkali from Seattle’s own Skalka.

Located on the gorgeous Seattle Waterfront, the Skalka Georgian Bakery and Dumpling House has been around since 2019, aiming to create a “Georgian experience in a modern contemporary setting.”

They’ve wowed Seattleites with their impressive-looking “bread boats” and beautiful beverages.

You can’t go to Skalka without ordering a Khachapuri Boat. Seriously, it would be a crime.

The gorgeous boats are traditional Georgian bread filled with everything from egg yolks and melty cheese, slow-cooked red beans, sauteed mushrooms, eggplants and red peppers, and more.

You can also enjoy a khachapuri pie filled with mixed cheeses, or khinkali dumplings with mushrooms, beef and pork, or cheeses.
