Best known for his role as “Screech” in Saved by the Bell, Dustin Diamond died at the age of 44 on Monday after battling a three-week fight with cancer.
“Dustin did not suffer,” Roger Paul, Diamond’s spokesperson, said in a statement to CBC.
“He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”
Diamond was hospitalized last month in Florida with carcinoma, a type of cancer that starts in cells that make up the skin or the tissue lining organs, such as the liver or kidneys.
