Crowds flock to Las Vegas casinos after reopening (VIDEOS)

After being permitted to reopen on June 4, Las Vegas’ famous casinos are seeing hoards of people flocking to their establishments. However, if the videos surfacing across social media are any indication, it may not just be money they’re gambling with.

Images and videos circulating online depict crowds of casino attendees, many of whom are not practicing proper physical distancing measures nor wearing protective face gear.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board issued a policy memorandum outlining what establishments must do to be allowed to reopen, which included agreeing to comply with all instructions from federal, state, and local officials.

“Our actions now will determine what actions we can take in the future,” Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak said in a press release last month. “It’s our personal responsibility to stay safe for ourselves, and others, and to work together through this process.”

To entice travelers to visit, the city also recently released a new ad that states, “The lights are on. The doors are open. And we can’t wait to see you,” which could signify that the crowds could potentially get larger.

Here are some images that others have captured from the various casino reopenings:
