Written for Daily Hive by Erin Sousa, brand strategist and new mom to Lola
This year, Mother’s Day is special for so many reasons. It’s my first as a mom to Lola, and it’s also been a very challenging year for so many moms in your life.
The strain on the moms we love has been intense this year, and Mother’s Day gives us a perfect opportunity to treat them to something!
I’ve handpicked some of my favourite things that I have and love, or that are on my list this year… don’t be shy, gift something special to the moms in your life.
Even if you might not see the moms you love this Mother’s Day, ship their gift right to their door and give them some happy mail to unwrap and enjoy.

This Button-up PJ set from Nest Designs ($66) is perfect for nursing moms. Not only is it adorable, but the rayon bamboo cotton blend makes it so comfortable and cozy. Plus, it has button snaps on the top which are just so convenient when you’re nursing.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of chunky hoops. These Gigi Hoops from FAIR ($185) are eco-friendly, ethically made, and are solid recycled 10K gold.
FAIR is also committed to sustainability, and for every purchase over $100, FAIR donates a portion of the sale to the David Suzuki Foundation.
This one is a game-changer for new parents. The Owlet Smart Sock 3 ($299) is a baby wearable that sits inside a washable sock and quietly and continuously watches over your baby to track heart rate and oxygen levels.
If Baby’s levels fall outside safe zones, it will let you know if your baby really needs you. It has helped us sleep well knowing Lola is being monitored while we snooze.
I feel most moms are in serious need of some spa time, but especially so during lockdowns. Laid Back Snacks has partnered with Canvas Candle Co. and Só Luxury to bring the spa to the moms in your life with their Momma Box and Big Momma Box ($44.99/$77.49).
These indulgent gift boxes can be scheduled to ship on the date of your choice and are packed with delicious snacks and spa essentials.
It is so important to take time off for self-care. I know it’s true for me that taking time to intentionally focus on myself and resting my mind and body has been so invaluable – Aura Inner Beauty’s Mother’s Day Wellness Bundle ($175) is perfect for this. It makes a great gift for hardworking moms who need some time to refresh and rejuvenate (i.e., ALL MOMS!).
With a perfect assortment of nurturing items including Aura Collagen and Dew Drops, The Qi Whole Flower Rose Tea, and MIFA & Co.’s Coco Eucalyptus Body Wash – this bundle is such a treat for the body and soul.
I love cooking, but when life gets busy it can be difficult to get creative in the kitchen. I love Molly Baz Cook This Book ($19.50) for that reason. I’ve been a fan of her YouTube videos for years and always trust what she’s whipping up will be delish.
These recipes are all super easy, so flavourful, and the book is filled with foundational tips and tricks for anyone that is new in the kitchen or looking to hone their skills.
This book, 21 Years of You ($39.95), is the sweetest momento ever. Inside it, you write a letter to your child every year and give it to them on their 21st birthday. It has a beautiful linen cover with gold embossing, and the inside is so thoughtfully illustrated. I think it is just the sweetest gift for all mamas.
I am in love with Bethany Menzel’s 24/7 Collection with True Curated Designs ($140 – $699). All these pieces have been so mindfully designed, and they are all curated to wear individually or together. Plus, they are made in 14K and 10K solid yellow gold – so they can really hold up to daily wear and tear and be worn literally 24/7!
For convenient and eco-conscious style, Heyfolks has these adorable Voyageur Shoes ($65 + $119) that you can purchase in kids and adult sizes for anyone who wants to twin with their kiddo.
These shoes are made with recycled materials, are machine washable, perfect for everyday wear, and for each pair purchased Heyfolks plants a tree. They are the perfect get-outside-with-your-little-in-style-shoe!
