Portland Gear has revealed a set of new “Proud” tees that will help support local businesses and the hungry during city-wide restrictions due to the coronavirus.

Beloved local clothing store, Portland Gear, has been around long enough that their classic sweaters and tees are a staple in Portlandian’s closets. Even celebrities rock that Portland pride.

Now, due to the rough economic state, the team behind the threads has revealed a gorgeous new line of Portland Proud T-shirts. Dubbed the “Small Biz Tee,” the graphic on the chest features the word “Proud” with the “o” replaced by a rose, for Rose City.

“Portland is home, Portland is the place we’re proud to represent and share with the world,” reads the product description. “In the last few weeks, small businesses like ours have been hit hard, and there’s no real end in sight.”

With every purchase of a shirt, Portland Gear has said that they will take $5 and use it to obtain gift cards to other local businesses.

Once purchased, Portland Gear will then donate the cards to Meals on Wheels, which delivers food and nourishment to the older adults in and around Portland, and other charities as needed.

In this trying time, charities like Meals on Wheels need all the help they can get.

My heart hurts right now for our elderly population who’re scared to leave their houses, but still need to eat just like you and I,” reads a post to the company’s social media.
