Michelle Obama releases closing argument in favor of Joe Biden (VIDEO)

On Tuesday morning, former First Lady Michelle Obama released a video endorsing Joe Biden for president of the United States.

“Instead of tearing people apart, he will bring people together,” says Obama in the video, entitled Closing Argument. “It’s a simple choice, really. A chance for a fresh start, or four more years of this [Trump].”

On Twitter, Michelle Obama talked about the events of the last few days — President Trump contracting coronavirus and downplaying the severity of it — calling it “a bracing reminder of the tragedy that has been this administration’s response to this crisis.”

She added that she was considering not posting the video at all.

“This is a message I’d planned to release earlier, and after everything that’s happened, I weighed whether or not to go public at all,” wrote Obama on Twitter. “But I wanted you all to hear what’s been on my mind.”

There’s only one way we can pull ourselves out—by voting for my friend @JoeBiden, who’s got the heart, the experience, and the character to lead us to better days.

The former first lady closed with a plea to the American people: “It’s simply what needs to be done.”
