The Grotto Christmas Festival of Lights is opening this Friday, November 29, and it’s an indispensable part of celebrating the holidays here in Rose City.

This is the largest Christmas choral festival in the world and will feature more than 160 concerts, puppet shows, a live petting zoo, as well as beverages and food. Cute seasonal gifts and souvenirs will also be available at The Grotto Gift Shop.

The entire festival of lights is a walk-through event, and attendees can expect to walk around one quarter mile. While most entertainment areas are full tented or indoors, it’s recommended that everyone dress appropriately for the weather. Think warm socks, gloves, and ear coverings!

The concerts are performed by many of Portland’s finest school, church, and civic choirs, and visitors can truly expect a performance and experience of a lifetime.

Nightly concerts begin at 5:15 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm, and 9 pm.

If attendees want to hear a specific concert, it’s recommended that they arrive 30 to 45 minutes in advance.
