There's a magical Christmas garden event outside of Portland starting today

Nov 29 2019, 10:49 am

If you feel your Scrooge-like sensibilities slowly creeping up this holiday season, there’s a way to remedy that. This year, Oregon Garden is presenting a lovely holiday event — Christmas in the Garden.

Based on a traditional European-style Christmas Market, Christmas in the Garden is a carefully curated and structured experience that will take you through the beautifully manicure Oregon Garden all the while hypnotizing you with the sounds, smell, and sights of the Christmas season.

With over one million lights decorating the forest, you can walk through the dazzling display with your loved ones and sip on a traditional, warm, spicy gluhwein, or mulled wine.

The market also features choirs, as well as a wood-burning fire pit where you can warm yourself after a lovely, long walk through the marketplace. If you’re looking for more exciting activities, you can also enjoy ice-skating or snowless tubing with your family.

And for those who would rather keep warm in tents, and eat some delicious food, the market features heated, fully covered tents along with a variety of international menu offerings to choose from, including pizza and fondue.
