Jun 26 2020, 10:32 pm

Normally, we like to give our readers a tip or a suggestion as to something they should set out to try. One that we do not typically promote is places to get groceries. Today, we’re excited to tell you about one of the Portland’s premium spots to get all of your meat-based proteins.

As a huge part of the community, Cason’s Fine Meats — owned and operated by Theotis Cason — has provided Portland with premium quality foods, and a joyous attitude, for years.

Beginning with the best ingredients can make or break a meal, which is part of the reason that Portlandians have flocked to Cason’s to get their finest. The other portion of Cason’s success is his keen ability to put a smile on your face.

What to order

Now, this part is going to be a tad tricky, especially considering you shouldn’t eat just anything on this menu — because it’s almost exclusively raw meat.

So, we’d like to suggest that you stock up on the essentials for barbeque season. There are so many locally-sourced pieces of perfection hawked at Cason’s, but the barbeque standards truly stick out. From t-bone steaks, pork chops, roast-ready chickens, and more, there are more than enough to keep the carnivores at your event satisfied.

Best of all, the Lousianna Red Hot Links may just be one of the greatest smoked meats of all time. With limited capacity, Cason’s is open for business including updated hours of operation from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm.
