Airbnb launches Online Experiences: discover the world from home

Apr 9 2020, 11:28 pm

On top of offering accommodations to frontline healthcare workers, Airbnb has launched Online Experiences, a new program where hosts can share unique, memorable activities for guests to enjoy for as little as $8 per person.

The company has also partnered with organizations worldwide to curate free experiences for those most isolated, such as elderly communities.

“With so many people needing to stay indoors to protect their health, we want to provide an opportunity for our hosts to connect with our global community of guests in the only way possible right now, online,” said head of Airbnb Experiences, Catherine Powell, in a press release.

The experiences are a new way for people to come together during this time of crisis.

Here are a few of our favorite Airbnb Online Experiences:

You’ll learn about the history of the region, the nuclear power plant, the work that is currently happening at Chernobyl, and of course, you’ll get to meet plenty of pups.
