US police searching for 15-year-old Montreal boy missing in Vermont woods

Vermont State Police (VSP) are searching for a 15-year-old boy from Montreal who was last seen on the Appalachian Hiking Trail near Killington, Vermont on Wednesday night.

Shamuel Rabinowitz was hiking with a group of friends, all of whom were attending the same summer camp.

According to Vermont State Police, “Shamuel is described as standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes and dirty blond hair.”

He was last seen wearing a lime green shirt, tan pants, a black baseball cap, and a blue backpack, as per the press release.

Search crews are working along the trails and “near the last point of contact” to find the boy. Agencies involved in the search effort include the Vermont State Police Search and Rescue Team, Killington Search and Rescue, New England K-9 Search and Rescue, Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team, US Forest Service, Green Mountain Club, and the Vermont National Guard.
