Griffintown is about to get even hipper.

As part of Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations, the city has commissioned Place au chantier, an urban party platform.

Located on Smith Street, Place au chantier will be a free architectural installation along the Lachine Canal.

According to the website it will be a place to “socialize, reflect, and celebrate the city of tomorrow while valuing local creative activity.”

The site also foreshadows the rehabilitation of the Wellington Control Tower, formerly one of the major traffic control centres of North America.

We can’t wait to learn more about this unique Griffintown installation and see it in action next summer!

Place au Chantier

When: June 15-July 20, 2017
