The second edition of Montreal’s ‘Ugly Christmas Tree Village‘ is going more for laughs than it’s looks this holiday season.
Le Village du Vilain Sapin,Ā the city’s newest holiday tradition, has gone for a fuller, greener tree for the 2018 season versus last year’s Charlie Brown-esque evergreen.
The big difference is that this year’s tree laughs when you tickle it.
Motion detectors and built-in loudspeakers have been incorporated into this yearās Frankentree that bellows out laughter when guests shake the bottom branches to tickle it.
The more people that tickle the tree at the same time, the louder the treeās laugh becomes. When guests stop tickling the tree, it lets out a great sigh of relief.
The ticklish fir and its minions were unveiled this past Friday on Prince Arthur Street and this time, the tree got its revenge and laughed at us, instead. Instagram was boasting videos and pictures of this year’s “ugly” and ticklish tree.
