Though the University of Montreal may not be the best university in the city, it still has much to celebrate.

The Times Higher Education University Ranking for 2016-2017 was recently released, and our beloved U de M took the 103rd position.

While other Canadian universities including the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, and McGill University ranked 22nd, 36th, and 42nd, respectively, it was the University of Montreal that improved its ranking the most of any Canadian university.

The University of Toronto, UBC, and McGill all moved down compared with the 2015-2016 rankings, while the University of Montreal not only moved up, but it moved up 10 spots.

10 points is a significant change from the 2015-2016 year and is certainly cause for celebration.

To all the University of Montreal professors and students out there, it’s time to bask in your 10-point-jump glory, you deserve it.

Congratulations, U de M!
