Quebec police are warning drivers to be careful on roads this weekend as winter storms will settle in across the province.
“Road conditions are dangerous in several regions of Quebec. If you are on the road during this period, be careful. Additional officers will be present to ensure safety,” said Sûreté du Québec in a tweet.

Montreal is expecting heavy snow to return later this evening. Environment Canada has issued a weather warning for the following regions:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montréal Island area
“Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Drastic changes of temperatures, freezing precipitation and snow expected over the next 24 hours,” said the weather agency.
At least 10 cm of snow is expected to fall overnight.
Environment Canada says that snowfall will continue into Saturday and heavy amounts (10 to 15 cm) are expected.
