The Quebec government revealed that the province’s COVID-19-related death toll has reached 5,340 after announcing 42 more deaths since Wednesday afternoon.
There are a reported 120 new known cases of the coronavirus, according to the Santé Quebec website. That brings the confirmed total to 54,383 known cases with 637 hospitalizations, 65 of whom are in the ICU.
Currently, a reported 490,711 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec and over 25,000 cases have been resolved.

Santé Quebec says despite the new cases, hospitalizations and patients in the ICU are continuing to drop.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 8,254 and confirmed cases were at 99,853, but the announcement of new cases in Ontario means the figure is now over 100,000.
