Places of worship are the latest sector of Quebec’s quickly-expanding deconfinement phase.
All houses of worships can reopen as of June 22, assuming that ceremonies and services don’t host more than 50 people.
Quebec’s National Director of Public Health, Dr. Horacio Arruda, made the announcement on Wednesday morning from Quebec City. Arruda says physical distancing measures will have to be respected indoors.

Arruda gave Catholic communion as an example as to how churches will have to adjust their practices.
He said houses of worship will fall under the same guidelines as any other indoor gathering in Quebec and will be asked to adhere to the same rules including staying 1.5 metres apart, frequent disinfecting, and he strongly recommends to wear face masks.
