Montreal has its fair share of well-known local restaurants but you’d be hard-pressed to find one more obvious than Gibeau Orange Julep.
Obvious is the proper word here because the place sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s a giant, orange sphere that stands three stories high and is forty feet wide.
The roadside snack-bar, which opened in 1932, has become a staple for car enthusiasts as the parking lot hosts a slew of vintage classics every Wednesday throughout the summer.
As we’ve entered the last official week of summertime, we thought it’d be necessary to show off some of the classic rides the traditional restaurant hosted all summer.

Vintage car nights close up for the winter when the weather starts getting cold, traditionally around mid-October, though it varies every year.
The old-school vehicles define Orange Julep, almost as much as their hot dogs, poutine, fresh orange juice, and giant sphere-shaped frame does.
Every week, Julep audiences vote on who’s showed up with the best vintage car.
So knock back a poutine, an orange julep chaser, and feast your eyes on some beautiful old-school cars. You’ll feel like Danny Zuko.
